Traffic Monitoring Stations

CCVE/RVD Design

Description: Installation of radar-based vehicle detectors, at same location as existing traffic cameras, to collect data on traffic volume, speeds. The new detectors provide alerts to TMC operators to announce increasing traffic congestion. Technology will allow RIDOT to post travel time on electronic message signs (40 locations).
